Chris & Emily A Destination Wedding

On Valentines weekend I loaded up on a plane in the city, left negative ten degree weather here in New York for paradise. It was my first time traveling alone and my first destination wedding and I was the most excited I have ever been. The lovely wedding of Chris and Emily took place on the sandy shore of Indian Rocks Beach in Florida.  The ceremony started at sunset and right after the I Do's we raced to get all of the formal photographs done as the sun was setting, it was a success and never have I ever felt so exhilarated.  I kicked off my flip flops, put on my big floppy sun hat and had such an amazing time getting to know their families.  Their wedding also made me realize how badly I want to be a destination wedding photographer, traveling and capturing life, what could be better?

Brad and Julia

Brad and Julia won my free couples session from this past January. Brad had been on deployment for 10 months and you could tell in the way they looked at each other it was like he was never gone. We met at my favorite location on Cayuga Lake to get some shore shots and then drove downtown Ithaca and went up to the parking garage to finish the session. Brad grabbed some red balloons on their way here which fit the occasion because we took these the day after valentines day and were shooting for a hearts theme. Hopefully next time I photograph this beautiful couple it will be on their wedding day!
